I find myself drawn directly to the center of the image. I like the use of a cool central subject surrounded by neutral colors. It relaxes the eye and allows it rest comfortably on the image. Afterwards , I notice the surrounding areas and what they are composed of. I like that the saturation levels don't completely blind me. It allows me to analyze and appreciate the subject. All in all, very good balance/symmetry and good use of color. The only thing that I might suggest is that perhaps somehow you can integrate something that catches the eye immediatly. If I were to see this image on a wall or next to another poster for example, what is a way that you can make this one stand out above the rest. Being a cooler colored based image, is there a way you can integrate a warm palate to entice the viewer to see this first. The eye sees warmer colors first. But well done.
Your use of color here is very interesting. I really like the shade of green chosen and the way it blends with the more industrial colors within the backdrop. The outline of the mouse above the light switch(?) has a nice texture and appeal to it. Overall I think the collage aspect of the piece really works well. The composition and balance is very even.
My main concern with this piece is the blending of the different elements with one another in the work. Edges are a little hard on different pieces within it, creating some very hard rifts inside the work. The blur tool and/or a soft edged eraser might work wonders for that issue. I am also at a loss for the concept and meaning behind the work. This is not at all a bad thing, I am just very curious as to how this is rationalized into being your self portrait.
There is a lot of use of texture i this image that draws the eye around the image after the initial focus on the green switch. after all this looking around u then see the rest of the image including the mice. I did not notice them at first glance or even for the first couple of glances. The background is my favorite part and the most interesting because of the many textures and depth.
The green switch looks at if it is floating in mid air not that it is attached to anything. THe mouse o top of the switch doesn't look like a real mouse...... it looks like the shadow of a mouse and it is also floating. I think you should lighten the contrast on them and put more of a shadow underneath it. Maybe some more lights and darks to make the mice appear more realistic.
