  1. The color balance here is beautiful. I love the many different values of greens that work together here but there is a good balance of oranges and reds to offset the greens. At first glance the image looks like a pretty pattern but the eye is drawn further and further into the image as the scene reveals when you study it. The feet are a nice unexpected addition to the image and are nicely incorporated to look like part of the picture. The placement of the small bridge in the middle really draws the eye into the image.
The only improvements to the image would be to try to bring the color value back up around the feet and bridge. There is a small area of the image that seems almost whitewashed and this interrupts the bright colors of the rest of the image. I’m not sure how to fix it but if some more of the green and orange could be brought up without covering the feet too much, I think this would be the only thing I would change.

  2. Anne-
It is really nice how she brought the photos’ she took into a painting by using Photoshop. The scene of the image seem appears really dream like, or like a scene you would find deep down hidden in a forest. The colors used complement each other. The concept of the image is really creative. It is a very interesting composition because it uses up the whole space. It is well balanced out, makes you want to look at the whole picture by bits and pieces.

However, some minor changes I would have liked seen was maybe less white and rather more shading of the colors. Maybe the feet could be popping more in color so that you can see that they don’t seem sort of floating. It needs a little bit of more contrast and shading so that it will have value. It has a bit of value near the bridge, but it seems to need more, like how the bridge appears darker. Maybe areas of the trees can be darker to create depth.

I think the overall composition of depicting herself into this image was accomplished. She seems to be a person that loves nature, and to relax. There are many good textures added for more details. It looks to have a 3 ratio structure, with the bottom green and the feet, the next layer would be the rocks and the 3rd would be the trees and sky.

  3. What works well to me is the color. All the colors are pleasing to the eye and make it very pleasing to look at. The picture as a whole is very dream like in a way, it all blends well and contrast well together. The feet at the bottom work well with how they are translucent, I think if they would have been bolder it would not have looked as good.
I don't understand why the spot in the middle is kind of faded. It works, but I don't understand why just that middle part is dull. I am not sure how many pictures was used in this, but possibly there could have been more. The background seems to be one picture and it looks good, but it might have made it more interesting to collaborate with more pictures.
Overall I really like this image that was created, its a very soothing picture and sense it is a self portrait it can tell a lot about the creator.

  4. I thought this piece was very creative. I like how you use one image dominant the other because it makes you want to keep looking to see where objects of other image were hidden at. Also the colors turn out really nice because they are bright and evenly spread throughout the page. I also like the abstraction looks of the image.

I also like that the image have this directional pathway leading you toward the middle and at the center is the bridge. That was a good use of space creating a nice composition. The values in this image is also well process. I like it that you faded the feet at the bottom because it give this feel of flowing to the image. It also give you a feeling of calm and relaxing because the feet look like it's laying there so you can tell maybe the figure there is laying on the grass. It almost as if it's a narrative piece because of the familiar objects you found in the image.

Though the feet create some positive composition, at the same time, it also what drawn me away. The whole background image, because of the way it look as if it was painted, give that imaginary setting to the piece. I was thinking maybe instead of showing the feet at the bottom, you could use a head to show as if the person is thinking of going to a place like that using their imagination. Also there is a part toward the middle where some of the colors look a little faded, I wasn't sure if it was intentional or not but I would like to see it with the normal colors like the rest throughout the page.

  5. Great images. The collaboration of images to depict a painting is done very well. The illusion of a painting is accomplished very well. The incoperation of the feet is also a unique and very good consideration to developing a narrative for the composition. The color and the great use of positive space stand out the most to me when viewing this piece. I am quickly drawn to the feet at the bottom of the composition but they are to transparent. I would like to see as much consideration on the feet as in on the rest of the composition. If the feet were to stay the same, then maybe bringing the fog down more to transition the feet into the rest of the composition a little more gently would be great, or just incorporating aspects of the background over top of the sides of the feet.
The use of color to describe the balance is very well done, however there is so much color and so much detail, I get loss and confused on where to look throughout the piece. The detail is amazing, the addition of the feet makes it hard to find fought, but so much detail has got me drawn back to the feet and away from the rest of the composition. Perhaps if less detail in the background and more detail on the feet then the whole composition might feel or look a little more balanced. Very well done.
