GIANT FISH! Is the first thing I must say! I do love the piece. The colours work very well along the wall with the fish to pull the eyes back to the end of the work to the girl surrounded by stars. I really like the fine detail in the wall and the fish. It looks almost shredded but the picture look so while and complete. I think it is a very good effect. I like the use of colour in the sky and it really adds depth to the background of the image. The perfective works very well to create a line that leads almost in a diagonal, as the girl stands higher than where the wall starts. The eye is drawn from left to right and slowly up the image. The use of the stars is nice to fill up some of the negative space but not over power it, just adding a hint of something to keep interest all the way to the right side of the image. I do think that the girl is so transparent and near the same colour as the sky that she almost gets lost. Though it may be intentional is makes the image very heavy on the left as the colours are very rich and saturated. A lovely image!
Great use of texture through out the piece! I like how my eye follows that wall across the piece. I love the rich colors in the fish and the variation of size to help with the sense of depth.
I wonder what you could do to help tie in the background of the piece. I would either mimic the purple color else where to create more balance, or even try darkening the background to make the color richer like the ones used in the wall. I think this is a very interesting composition!
The two things that stand out to me right away are the vibrant colors in the fish and the texture they are on. I think those brights work well in that area and help to keep it from getting lost in the texture. The perspective and the way it leads your eyes is really great.
I really wish the "floor" was a little more interestingly treated than just that cement gray and the stars are a little much over the clouds. Maybe have the stars on the ground and let the sky just be sky? Also the opacity of the figure is a little distracting. It would probably look a little better if it were more opaque and with adjustment layers you can achieve that without loosing the sky. If the translucence is something you really want to keep, make the transition more gradual on the legs.
I would love to know the idea behind this. It seems like this person (you?) is on a journey and about to leap off this ledge but instead of falling into some unknown, the figure looks as though she is going to soar into the sky.
This piece really grabs your attention. One of the first things you notice is the texture on the fish. It's kind of surprising because you expect to see scales on a fish and not whatever that texture is (plywood?). The relative perspective is great and the eye is drawn to the girl at the end. Also, good attention to detail with the shadow underneath her.
There is something about the composition that makes me feel like I'm not seeing the entire frame on the right side. I think it would help to lengthen the image just a little bit to see more sky and to balance it out. Also, the ground could probably be made more interesting; however it would be tricky to do so and not take away from the fish wall.
